Menacing Makeup

The toxic cosmetic chemical industry. What you need to know about what's going on your body.

For many years we have been inundated with advertising messages from Madison Avenue, telling women they are nothing unless they are using their over the counter cosmetics. These cosmetics which supposedly offer cell renewal, energy infusion, elastin stimulating peptides and on and on….Well all these claims can be classified as drugs according to health Canada and the US Food and Drug Administration.

Most cosmetics have additives, fillers, chemicals, carcinogens, bug and animal parts, which bio accumulate, and then you smear it all over your face hoping to help your skin. Many cosmetics also have a DIN (Drug Identification Number) number.

The cosmetic industries products have many claims to reduce wrinkles or rejuvenate the cells but no one speaks about the side effects.

Take for example two ingredients that are used very heavily in the cosmetic industry, which by the why, can include facial scrubs, shampoos, soaps and even toothpaste.

SLS can cause skin irritation and cause Dermatitis, a condition of the skin that becomes red, swollen, sore and sometimes even small blisters.

They are called sodium laureth sulfate and sodium lauryl sulfate. These sister chemicals are what makes the foaming bubbly texture of soaps. These 2 chemicals are very irritating to the skin. They are used in clinical studies to actually cause skin irritations and cause dermatitis. It’s also used as a surfactant in products that are used to clean oily surfaces from floors.

Now listen if you are attempting to get your skin health in order, you are not going to do it by putting something on your skin topically. It’s a fools errand. In order to change the appearance of, and heal your skin, it’s a matter of having a healthy digestive tract, immune system and having the proper nutrients that the body needs to have healthy skin.
